A GIFT'S JOURNEY
How a gift reaches the game
Four stops, in under a second.
A viewer sends a gift
From TikTok, Twitch, Kick, YouTube or Starvios: a gift, a follow, likes or a chat command.
OverInteractive
Receives the event, checks your active profile for the matching effect and sends it.
Romestead mod
A mod that lives in OverInteractive's folder and gets into the game when the app opens it. It doesn't touch any Romestead file.
Romestead · your world
The effect shows up in your game instantly: the creature next to you, the item in your inventory or your character healed.
STEP BY STEP
Getting started
Everything happens from the game's status bar, at the bottom of the app.

The app finds your game
It detects your Steam copy of Romestead on its own. If it lives in another folder, pick it with «Set path» in the bar below.

Install the mod in one click
Press «Install mod». The app downloads it to its own folder: nothing is copied into Romestead, so Steam updates don't break it.

Open it with «Launch game»
This step is required: the mod only gets in if the app opens the game. Opened from Steam, Romestead runs normally but without effects.

Enter your world and wait for «Connected»
Load or create your world. The bar below switches to «Running · Connected» and from then on every gift reaches the game.

Choose what each gift does
In «Profiles» create an example one in a click or build your own: each gift, follow or chat command fires the effect you pick.
EFFECTS
What your chat can do
Each effect is assigned to a gift, a follow, likes or a chat command.
Items and auras
Hundreds of game items one by one (weapons, armor, food, amulets, seeds…), a random one, and auras that bless or punish.
Your character
Full heal, can't die for a while or instant death.
Movement
Multiply your speed or send you to a random nearby spot, always one you can walk back from.

Always open it from the app
Romestead has no mod loader: the mod only gets in when the app opens the game. From Steam or a shortcut, the game runs normally and no effect gets through.
Gifting items needs cheats
Effects that give items need the world to have cheats enabled. Without them, those gifts do nothing.
In multiplayer, you create the match
Romestead runs the world on whoever hosts the match: effects only work if the world is yours.
Close the game to uninstall
While Romestead is open, the mod can't be deleted. Close it before pressing «Uninstall mod».
FAQ
Because Romestead has no mod loader: the mod can only get in at the moment the game starts, and the app does that. Opened from Steam, the game works but without effects.
No, not a single one. The mod lives in OverInteractive's folder. That's why a Steam update doesn't break it and uninstalling leaves no trace.
That world doesn't have cheats enabled. Enable them in your world or use effects that don't give items, like creatures or auras.
Yes, that's the fun. If you want chat to go wild without losing the run, use «Cannot Die» for a while.
With the game closed, from the ⋯ menu in the bar below, «Uninstall mod».
