A GIFT'S JOURNEY
How a gift reaches the game
Four stops, in under a second.
A viewer sends a gift
From TikTok, Twitch, Kick, YouTube or Starvios: a gift, a follow, likes or a chat command.
OverInteractive
Receives the event, checks your active profile for the matching effect and sends it.
Clone Hero mod
The app installs a mod loader (BepInEx) and the OverInteractive mod in the game folder. The mod presses the game's own controls and draws effects on top.
Clone Hero
The effect lands mid-song and an on-screen notice says who sent it.
STEP BY STEP
Getting started
Everything happens from the game's status bar, at the bottom of the app.

Locate Clone Hero
Since it isn't on Steam, press «Set up» in the bar below. The wizard looks for it with «Detect automatically» or you pick the folder that holds Clone Hero.exe with «Choose folder…».
The wizard checks that the folder is a compatible version. If it says it's not valid, download the current version from clonehero.net.

Prepare the mod
With the game closed, in the wizard's «Prepare the mod» step press «Install» on the BepInEx loader and then on the OverInteractive mod. No original file is touched.

Open Clone Hero
Press «Launch game» in the wizard or the bar, or open it as usual. The first time after installing it takes longer to start: the loader prepares its files once.

Wait for «Connected»
When the game finishes loading, the bar below switches to «Connected». From then on every gift reaches your song.

Choose what each gift does
In «Profiles» create an example one in a click or build your own: each gift, follow or chat command fires the effect you pick.

Each effect is assigned to a gift, a follow, likes or a chat command.
Your screen
Blackout, a band that hides the notes (Cover Notes), curtains, letterbox, vignette, fog, strobe, flash and a colour tint.

Before you go live
It gets in the way, it doesn't play for you
The mod doesn't read the song: it presses the game's own controls (strum, frets, whammy, Star Power) and draws effects on top. It never hits notes for you.
The first launch is slower
The first time you open the game after installing, the mod loader generates its files and takes much longer than usual. Don't close it: after that it starts as normal.
Fire them while a song plays
Guitar effects are presses of your controls: they matter mid-song. Visual effects show up at any time.
Not on Steam
The app can't find it in your library: the wizard locates it the first time. If you move the game folder, locate it again from the bar below.

Yes. Clone Hero is a free download from clonehero.net and OverInteractive is free too.
Both. The mod uses the game's own controls, so it affects whatever you're playing on.
Yes. Every applied effect shows an on-screen notice with the viewer's name, the effect and its duration.
If it's the first time after installing, wait for the game to finish starting. If it still won't connect, close the game and use «Reinstall mod» from the ⋯ menu in the bar.
From the ⋯ menu in the bar below, «Uninstall mod». The OverInteractive mod goes away; the BepInEx loader stays in the folder and, with no mods, the game works as always.
