Overlays

Overlays: adding them in OBS and other tools

Where each URL is, how to add it as a browser source, and when to use the capture window.

Every OverInteractive overlay is served from your PC as a URL. You add it as a browser source in OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio, Streamlabs or any tool that supports it; the URL is stable and doesn't change when you change the configuration.

Everything it can do

  • One URL per overlay, copyable in one click from its panel.
  • Stable URL: configuration travels over the real-time bus, not the address.
  • Live preview inside the app before touching your scene.
  • Optional capture window: use Window Capture for smoother animations.
  • Auto-open the capture window when the app starts.
  • A main overlay plus per-group trigger overlays.
  • Option to exclude already-grouped triggers from the main overlay.
  • Scenes: several overlays on one canvas and a single browser source in OBS.

Browser source or capture window

Browser source is the normal path and works everywhere. The capture window opens a desktop window for Window Capture: it performs better with demanding animations and can open by itself at startup so your scene keeps capturing it between sessions.

One source per overlay, or a single scene

Every overlay has its own URL and can be added standalone, which is the simple path when you have three or four. When there are many, the scene editor lets you compose them on one canvas and walk away with ONE URL, with the bonus of placing them while looking at the result instead of eyeballing it inside OBS. Both routes coexist: you can keep a scene for the fixed pieces and add standalone overlays alongside.

The main overlay and groups

The main overlay shows the active profile's triggers as a menu. If you'd rather have separate blocks in your scene, group triggers and use each group's URL: they render as a grid with the command art and the gift art.

Audio on stream

If an overlay plays sound, check the source's audio monitoring in OBS (Monitor and Output). That's the usual cause of “I hear it but the stream doesn't”.

Step by step

  1. Open the overlay you want in the app and copy its URL.
  2. In OBS, create a browser source and paste the URL.
  3. Set width and height to match your scene.
  4. If it plays audio, configure the source's monitoring.

FAQ

Do I need to paste the URL again when I change settings?

No. Configuration reaches the overlay in real time; the URL stays the same.
