The ticker says the things you always have to say without you having to say them: your Twitch @, the Discord, the channel rule, today's giveaway notice. Each message carries its own icon and color, and the band cycles on its own in a corner of the scene.
Everything it can do
- Unlimited messages, reorderable, and parkable without deleting them.
- Two motions: rotate (one message at a time, static) or scroll (the classic band).
- An icon per message: social brands and generic notices.
- A custom color per message, or the color of its network.
- Three layouts: pill, TV-style tab and line only.
- Short in and out transitions: fade, slide and flip.
- Position dots so you know which of the N messages is showing.
- Shown and hidden from the scene right from the panel.
Rotating costs almost nothing; scrolling never stops
This is the choice you feel outside the screen. In rotate mode one message sits still and nothing is drawn between changes, so the source barely costs anything. In scroll mode the band never stops, and a source that never stops keeps pushing frames to OBS for the whole stream. If your PC is tight, rotate is the answer.
Three layouts for three scenes
The shape of the band decides where it fits. Pick by how busy your scene is, not by which looks best in isolation.
- Pill: the classic rounded band, fits in a corner and stays out of the way.
- Tab: TV style, a solid block with an icon and a short label, text beside it.
- Line only: no box, just an accent bar, for scenes that are already busy.
Icon and color per message
Each row picks its icon and its colors separately — icon, background and text — or takes its network's. So the Discord message reads purple and the TikTok one reads TikTok without configuring anything globally. The general look is set at the top; each row overrides it.
Step by step
- Open Ticker in the overlays section.
- Write your messages and order them; uncheck the ones you want to park.
- Give each one its icon and color, or leave its network's.
- Pick the motion (rotate or scroll), the layout and the transition.
- Copy the URL and place it as a wide, short source along one edge of the scene.
FAQ
Does it appear on its own when I write a message?
Yes. As soon as there's an active message the band shows up in the scene. You can pull it out and put it back from the panel without deleting anything.
How many messages can I have?
As many as you want. With a lot of them, raise the seconds per message: reading is just as fast, but changing every two seconds wears people out.
The text goes by too fast to read
In scroll mode, raise the seconds per lap. Slower reads better and costs exactly the same.
